Wepresentasystemforautomaticallysynthesizingadiversesetofsemanticallyvalid,andwell-
arranged3Dinteriorscenesforagivenemptyroomshape.Unlikeexistingworkonlayoutsynthesis,that
typically knowspotentiallyneeded3Dmodelsandoptimizestheirlocationthroughcostfunctions,our
techniqueperformstheretrievalandplacementof3Dmodelsbydiscoveringtherelationshipsbetween
the roomspaceandthemodels'categories.Thisisenabledbyanewanalyticalstructure,called WallGrid
Structure, whichjointlyconsidersthecategoriesandlocationsof3Dmodels.Ourtechniquegreatly
reduces theamountofuserinterventionandprovidesuserswithsuggestionsandinspirations.We
demonstratetheapplicabilityofourapproachonthreetypesofscenarios:conferencerooms,living
rooms andbedrooms.
