Computer-generated holograms (CGH) have been widely used for years in optical testing of aspheric surfaces in combination with Fizeau interferometers. With the development of diffraction optics
computer technology
and micro-processing technology
the accuracy of the CGH testing can achieve a hundredth of a wave
and the cost is reduced greatly. CGH is capable of producing an optical wavefront with any desired shape. So it is fascinating and will have good prospects to test free-form surfaces using CGH. As the CGH can create any wavefront shape
it can also be used in unsymmetrical aspherical surfaces testing. Taking the cubic surface as an example
this paper gives a method to test unsymmetrical surfaces. This paper gives the design to test a cubic surface. And the separation of the diffraction orders and the binary process of the continuous CGH phase function are discussed in detail. The alignment tolerance of the test system and the CGH fabrication tolerance are analyzed. We also present an idea using a CGH and two spherical lenses as null lens to test the cubic surface when the surface deviation is great. 2011 IEEE.

In order to improve the initial alignment accuracy and convergence rate of the SINS system
proposed the improved UKF algorithm (AUKF) based on the Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF). Noise statistical characteristics are mostly unknown in real systems
when it was effected by the initial value errors and dynamic model errors
AUKF algorithm can real-time adjust the covariance of the state vector and observation vector
and balance the right ratio of the state information and observation information in the filter results
thereby improving the system performance. The experimental results show: The Improved UKF Algorithm enhances the convergence speed and alignment accuracy effectively. 2011 IEEE.

In order to improve the alignment precision and convergence speed of strap-down inertial navigation system
but in the active system most noise statistical characteristics are unknown
an initial alignment method based on Sage-Husa adaptive filter is presented. We also derived the exactitude alignment error model and adaptive Kalman filter equation in the azimuth of small misalignment angle. As usual
in this case
known the noise statistical characteristics
we introduce the adaptive Kalman filter. It uses the information of observed data
Kalman filter is suitable
on-line estimation noise statistical characteristics and state simultaneously in order to improve the filter continuously
so
the filter has a higher estimation accuracy than the conventional Kalman filter. By simulating verifying
the adaptive Kalman filter enhances the convergence speed and alignment accuracy effectively.

In order to solve the registration problem of different source image existed on aerial image fusion
algorithms based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) are applied as search strategy in this paper
and Alignment Metric (AM) is used as judgment. This study has realized the different source image registration of infrared and visible light with high speed
high accuracy and high reliability. Basically
with little restriction of gray level properties
a new alignment measure is applied
which can efficiently measure the image registration extent and tolerate noise well. Even more
the intelligent optimization algorithm - Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is combined to improve the registration precision and rate of infrared and visible light. Experimental results indicate that
the study attains the registration accuracy of pixel level
and every registration time is cut down over 40 percent compared to traditional method. The match algorithm based on AM
solves the registration problem that greater differences between different source images are existed on gray and characteristic. At the same time
the adoption of combining the intelligent optimization algorithms significantly improves the searching efficiency and convergence speed of the algorithms
and the registration result has higher accuracy and stability
which builds up solid foundation for different source image fusion. The method in this paper has a magnificent effect
and is easy for application and very suitable for engineering use. 2010 IEEE.

In order to overcome the shortcomings of standard unscented Kalman filter (UKF)
which are obviously influenced by the error of initial value and the model error of system
adaptive UKF which is based on the adaptive principle is applied in initial alignment of the MINS/GPS integrated navigation system. Coarse alignment cannot be done by micro inertial measurement unit (MIMU) itself because of its low precision
the method of using magnetometer to assist it with coarse alignment is presented. Simulation results show that the adaptive UKF can overcome the influences of initial values error and inaccurate system model
and improve the convergence speed and alignment accuracy effectively. 2010 IEEE.

It is a key point of CO2 laser beam monitoring in the CO 2 laser processing system to achieve alignment between CO2 laser and PL (pointing and launching) system. By monitoring the angle offset of CO2 laser beam
the compensation can be gotten witch is given to fast-steering mirror to rectify the direction of laser beam. But the normal photoelectric detector can not get the laser signal because of CO2 laser's high energy and long wavelength. Its wavelength is 10.6m and its power can reach kW level. Consequently
it is difficult to detect the high-energy 10.6m laser beam directly. So
we monitored the output mirror of laser resonator superseded the laser beam
indirectly. The laser beam monitoring system could be designed based on CCD laser auto-collimation angular measurement principle and image processing method. In this paper
application of CCD laser auto-collimation angular measurement principle and image processing method for CO2 laser beam monitoring system is introduced particularly
After design
fabrication and alignment
the monitoring system can be used for experimental study that including angular measurement accuracy and angle offset measurement of CO2 laser beam. Angle offset range and angle variation rule of CO2 laser beam is also can be acquired for further research.

The method of null test is widely used for testing an aspheric mirror. During optical manufacturing process
the mirror has to be moved up and down for testing and fabricating. Because the alignment of null test is difficult and time costing
the efficiency of making aspheric mirror is decreased greatly. In order to solve the problem
we developed a software based on polynomial fitting to calculate the misalignment parameters. By using the software and computer numeric controlled adjusting equipments
the efficiency of testing is increased and the accuracy of test has reached up to /40 RMS where equals to 632.8nm
which has fulfilled the demand of the designer.

The characteristics and effects of alignment error on test results are analysed in this paper. The mathematical model are established
the least square method is used to determine the misalignment. Procedures are presented that allow for separation of misalignment from misfigure in asphere testing. The misalignment-induced aberrations by corrector and the support of the mirror can be calculated and subtracted from segment interferogram so that only true misfigure remains. The accuracy of the system can reach up to 0.028(=632.8nm).

We study insertion losses of optical switch when the laser beam is propagating during the free space between two single mode fibers (SMFs) and the related assemblage challenges
Then a new packaging structure is developed for the hybrid-integration of free-space MOEMS (micro-opto-electro-mechanical systems) chip with a silicon micromachined submount to improve alignment accuracy. The submount is designed to accommodate various free-space MOEMS chips with minimal active optical alignment
thus reducing the packaging cost. The silicon submount has a central recess to place the MOEMS chip in
sixteen V-grooves for optical fibers
and micropits for micro ball lenses
all bulk micromachined at the same time by a single anisotropic wet etching step. A corner compensation technique is employed to prevent erosion of the convex corners
where different geometries meet. Through this assembling method
the fiber
micro ball lens can be aligned preciously thus reduced lateral and angular misalignment between them. Then total insertion losses can be decreased.
