中文摘要Calculations based on coupled Mathieu-Coulomb equations have been performed to investigate the dynamical behavior of two particles in a Paul trap. It is found that the average transient lifetime increases exponentially with the increase of trap voltage or with the decrease of damping. The stationary chaos does not exist in this dissipative system. Transient chaos is a common phenomenon before trajectories are settled in frequency-locked orbits. We also study the basins of attraction and find riddled basins as well as Wada basins in the system.
