The debris flow of Jiangjia Gully generally possesses the evolution processes of muddy water-debris flow-muddy water. The hisogram of its solid material composition reveals a feature of binodal type, a significant mark different from other fluvial sediment. The intermittent flow and three flow patterns of debris flow (turbulent, laminar and structural creeping flow) are its major charcteristics. Owing to high velocity and large interia, its dynamicuprise and superelevation at the bend are far stronger than water flow. Finally, the formation and causes of such special intermittent phenomenon are also discussed.
