中文摘要	The temporarily thermal relaxation of residual stress is analyzed for an initially stressed solid subjected to non-uniform heating. It is revealed that the redistribution of the initial (residual) strain will be developed by the non-uniform temperature elevation, as which leads to the nonuniform reduction of the material stiffness. Therefore, the total observable displacement field is determined by the initial stresses, the thermal softening effect and the thermal expansion effect. By eliminating the contribution of the thermal expansion from the total observable displacements, the incremental displacement field resulted from the temporarily thermal relaxation of the initial stresses is obtained.
