英文摘要Rutting at high temperature and cracking at low temperature are two major diseases that asphalt pavement occurs. The addition of modifier to asphalt mixture is particularly important to improve the pavement performance at high-and-low temperature. In this study, high-temperature stability, low-temperature crack resistance and water stability of asphalt mixture added Styrene Butadiene Styrene (SBS) modifier were analysed by tests of wheel tracking, splitting, freeze-thaw splitting and small bending beam. The results of tests showed that Dynamic Stability (DS) reached the maximum with 5% SBS contents and the high-temperature stability of asphalt mixture added SBS modifier could be improved effectively. The flexure tensile strains and splitting strength of asphalt mixture reached to the maximum with SBS contents of 5% and 4% respectively, indicating that the low-temperature crack resistance of asphalt mixture could be improved by SBS modifier. Water stability of asphalt mixture could be also improved when SBS contents were between 2% and 5%.
