英文摘要	Progressive collapse of structures, which is caused by the local damage, will generally result in serious consequences, and thus have become a focusing topic in the field of civil engineering worldwide. However, the study on the progressive collapse of isolated structures is still left blank. This paper presents a numerical analysis of progressive collapse of vertically irregular isolated RC frame structure caused by sudden failure of isolator on collapsible loess. An irregular RC frames were built up as analysis models, and each model with the remove of isolators at different locations was analyzed by using nonlinear static method and nonlinear dynamic method based on alternate path method, respectively. Two new analytical indices were proposed for the vertical irregular isolated RC frames. The result shows that the dynamic amplification factor of 2.0 suggested in GSA2003 is conservative to some extent. The ability of structures subjected to dynamic loads was investigated by adjusting the value of aspect ratio or by reducing the irregularity of structure, and some preliminary measures for improving the progressive collapse ability of the isolated structure were suggested.
