英文摘要	The microstructures and properties of the carbon-encapsulated Fe nano-particles, synthesized by the improved DC carbon arc plasma in argon atmosphere, were characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). The results show that the synthesis technique works better than the conventional ones, and that the carbon-encapsulated Fe nano-particles have well-defined core-shell structures, with a crystallized iron-core and onion-like, concentric, hexagonal-structured carbon-shells. The spherical and ellipsoidal shapes of the particles dominate, with a size distribution ranging from 20 nm to 60 nm and an average diameter of 44 nm.
