A novel pulse wave extraction algorithm based on image entropy

英文摘要Based on the fact the statistics of each image of a dynamic image sequence relatively changes, a novel pulse wave extraction algorithm based on image entropy was proposed. The entropy was calculated from a whole frame, or from one or more grid regions in the frame. According to the entropy of each frame in the dynamic image sequence, the pulse wave could be obtained. Then, the period and frequency of pulse wave were computed. The results show that the image entropy-based approach can accurately extract the pulse wave, and it performs better than the grid area-based method proposed by our research group.
