英文摘要In the present study, dynamic response of a functionally-graded material (FGM) beam subjected to the impact load is studied analytically. Firstly, governing equations of motion are derived, in which material properties of FGM are assumed to vary continuously in the thickness direction of the beam according to a power function. And then, nature frequencies and principal modes of cantilever FGM beam are obtained by using the method of variables separation. The orthogonality of principal modes is also confirmed. Finally, the dynamic response characteristics of FGM beam subjected to the impact load on the end are studied by the method of principal modal superposition combining with DuHamel integral. The accurately-analytical solutions of the maximum deflections with respect to time are obtained. And the numerical results are given in the short time of the impact. The shock response characteristics and its influencing factors are analyzed in detail. © 2020, Editorial Board of Journal of Ship Mechanics. All right reserved.
