英文摘要 | Fluoride chemical conversion treatment is an effective way to improve the corrosion resistance and inhibit pitting corrosion for magnesium alloys. In this study, the degradation process and why the coating inhibited pitting corrosion were investigated. In vitro degradation of AZ31B magnesium alloy with fluoride conversion coating was studied by immersing test. During degradation, magnesium fluoride in the coating could dissolve into F ion and Mg ions, the later could immediately react with OH- to form Mg(OH)(2) deposition. Then sample was covered by a layer of degradation products, which were mainly composed of Mg(OH)(2). Owning to the low solubility of MgF2, formation rate of Mg(OH)(2) was slow, giving rise to an even corrosion resistant coating. As H2O and Cl- penetrating to the alloy substrate, the alloy began to degrade forming Mg(OH)(2) and H-2. Above all, the degradation of fluoride treated magnesium alloy was gentle and inward to migration layer by layer. |
