英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To obtain a solid laser whose light emitting efficiency is excellent by using a multiple refractive crystalline laser medium block as a medium and allowing an incident laser excitation light. CONSTITUTION:Excitation light 2 from a laser 1 is converged into a multiple refractive crystal block 12. A reflection plane 5, which coats the block end face so that it may be highly reflective to the excitation light generated from the block and non-reflective to the excitation light from the laser, amplifies the light with a mirror inside a resonator. The resonator is designed so that laser light 15 may be reflected on a plane 13 which includes an optical axis of the crystal. An incidental angle theta of the laser light is to be selected between the critical angles of polarization pi and sigma at that time. A sigma wave is mostly discharged out of the resonator and turned into transparent light 16. On the other hand, the pi polarization is totally reflected with no loss while the laser light 15, which is turned into pi polarization by the reciprocating motion in the resonator, is discharged as output light 11, which is normal to the plane of space. Since the excitation light 2 is also reflected on the plane 13, a solid laser with excellent light emitting ratio can be obtained. |
