英文摘要The invention relates to a method for deep laser-beam cutting of a material coating a substrate, and devices for its implementation. The subject of the invention is a method for deep laser-beam cutting of a material coating a substrate, the said material absorbing the laser radiation and being in the form of a sheet, film, sheath or the like and the substrate being made from a material which may or may not be capable of reflecting this radiation, characterised in that it consists: - in converting the output beam of the laser source (1) into a thin brush (8), so as to create a field of focus (14) in the form of a thin plate (strip), having a large depth of focus which may be up to several millimetres, and within which the variations in the energy density of the laser radiation are less than a predetermined value, sufficient for forcing the removal, by melting or ablation, of the said material over its entire thickness, - and, by a relative displacement movement between the said field of focus (14) and the said material to be cut (21), in progressively moving the latter, over its entire thickness, into the said field of focus (14) while keeping this field substantially perpendicular to the external surface, or to a generatrix of the external surface, of the said material. Application especially to the stripping of electrical cables.
