| 英文摘要 | An essential aspect of a quantum cryptographic key distribution system is a source of photons, and this could be weak coherent sources. Vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) with output beams being at least partially polarised have been shown to be suitable for this use. Random modulation of a plurality of VCSEL's using a frequency generator, random number generator and used in conjunction with a fibre optic channel and appropriate optical attenuation, provide an ideal source of weak coherent pulses for a quantum key distribution system configured for a number of known protocols. |
