中文摘要the most effective culture method is the limitation of the major nutrient nitrogen, termed the ‘‘fattening’’ strategy. however, many high lipid-accumulating microalgal strains show low growth under nitrogen-limiting conditions, which causes little improvement in lipid productivity, even possible decreases. the ideal microalgal strain should be able to produce lipids, without a decrease in biomass. possibly, this algal strain can accumulate lipids under the nitrogen-repletion conditions associated with high biomass isochrysis. zhangjiangensis, a marine microalgal strain, is taxonomically very close to i. galbana. we hypothesized that i. zhangjiangensis is able to accumulate carbohydrate in nitrogen-limitating conditions in a similar manner to i. galbana. we wanted to test whether i. zhangjiangensis could accumulate lipid in a nitrogen repletion environment. effects of nitrate feeding interval times on the cell growth and lipid accumulation of marine microalgae i. zhangjiangensis was studied. it was found that the biomass and lipid content of the 24 h interval feeding treatment were the highest. a two-stage culture model revealed that the algal cell of i. zhangjiangensis can accumulate lipids during the nitrogen-repletion conditions. the maximum lipid content of 53% was obtained through extremely high nitrate concentrations added to the medium. owing to the special characteristic of lipid accumulation, i. zhangjiangensis is an ideal algal strain for producing biodiesel using n-rich wastewater.
