Analysis of regional competitiveness of Chinese iron and steel industry by using artificial neural networks

英文摘要The present situation of artificial neural network theory for geological study is analyzed in this paper. Back propagation (BP) neural network is a widely used artificial neural network with the character of self-training and strong capability in solving nonlinear problems. On the basic analysis of evaluation techniques of regional competitiveness, application of ANN method and optimal segmentation, we develop a BP neural network model in regional competitiveness evaluation of Chinese iron and steel industry. Results indicate that the regional differentiations of iron and steel industry competitiveness are obvious during 1995a-2000a. These have been fully proved by developmental situation of iron and steel industry since 2000. The coastal area is becoming the main area, therefore, optimizing spatial layout of iron and steel industry is an important task.
