英文摘要Due to the object confusion between potential calculation and consolidation standard, the results calculated by Method of Constructive Land Standard per capita (MCLS) are often overestimated. Three methods was issued to solve this problem i.e. modifying the potential step by step (MMP), using a new standard rather than MCLS, and establishing a new assessment system. To date no conclusion has been achieved for the latter two methods while some achievements for the MMP. The principles of MMP are theory of Wooden Bucket Effect and Liebig's Law of the Minimum. Based on the two theories, potential calculation model of MMP was constructed. Using the model, potential of rural habitat consolidation in Tianjin Municipality in 2020 was calculated. Results show that the ranking of limiting factors in potential transformation from high to low are: economic feasibility, social acceptability and natural suitability. The analysis of theory and experience both show that MMP can modify MCLS properly. Therefore, MMP should be popularized in the potential calculation of rural habitat consolidation.
