英文摘要Due to the effect of the first-order sea clutter, some targets with certain radial velocities cannot be detected by a single frequency High Frequency Surface Wave Radar (HFSWR). These missed contacts will result in track fragmentation. In this paper, a vessel target tracking method exploiting frequency diversity is proposed for dual-frequency HFSWR. Taking one frequency as the main frequency for tracking and the other as the auxiliary one, when a target goes into the blind velocity zone of the main frequency, the detected points by the auxiliary frequency are employed for the following tracking process. Tracking experiments were conducted on real data with synchronous AIS track as comparison, the results verify that the proposed method can repair some fractured tracks caused by blind velocity with boosted capability for track persistency and accuracy; meanwhile, the real-time character of track output can be guaranteed. © 2016 IEEE.
