英文摘要 | Fractional vegetation coverage (FVC) is one of the simple but crucial parameters for depicting the status of vegetation. Remote sensing is the only way to obtain regional and global FVC distribution rapidly so far. In this study, we combined the advantages of Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MODIS) imagery and Landsat-8 imagery to retrieve high quality FVC results. First, time series of MODIS NDVI images were built to calculate the pure vegetation and background soil NDVI images. Then they were transformed to Landsat-8 resolution and were used to compute the high quality FVC image by using dimidiate pixel model. Finally, the newly proposed method was validated by ground measurements and compared with traditional method. The results showed that the root mean square deviation (RMSE) of the novel method was smaller, which meant the proposed method is feasible for FVC retrieval.; EI |
