Influence of clamping methods and loading path on deformation of carbon steel during dieless bending process

英文摘要As a high flexible and low cost forming method, dieless bending has been applied in sheet metal forming process in recent years. In this paper, two kinds of clamping methods are adopted to keep the metal plates sta-ble during the dieless bending process. The influence of clamping method and loading path on the deformation of carbon steel-Q235 are studied. First, a force sensor is mounted on the stamping tool of the single point dieless bending machine to detect and record the forming force. Second, the deformation distribution of the metal plates un-der two clamping methods are analyzed. Finally, the impact of different loading path on the final shape of the plates are investigated. The comparison results of experiment and nu-merical simulation show that clamping force can influence the maximum volume of the stamping force in elastic defor-mation stage, but it cannot determine the final shape of the metal plate. Besides, the loading path is a crucial factor to determine the specific machining shape. The comparison of the experiment results and numerical situation verifies that the law of forming force and loading path is believable, so this study provides useful methods for the further research on dieless bending process
