中文摘要a method has been developed for rapid analysis of small molecules by using carbon film as a substrate for matrix-free laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (mfldi-tof ms). the carbon film functions as substrate to trap analytes of peptides, and organic compounds deposited on its surface. then, the carbon film might transfer energy to the analyte under laser irradiation, which makes analyte well desorbed/ionized, and the fragmentation of the analyte can be avoided. at the same time, the interference of intrinsic matrix ions can be greatly eliminated. a good sensitivity and excellent reproducibility of the spectrum signals are achieved. the ionization efficiency of the carbon film does not change after a long-time storage in the room atmosphere. it is believed that this work not only will open a new field for applications of carbon material, but also will offer a new technique for high-throughput analysis of low molecular weight compounds in areas such as metabonomics research and characterization of natural products.
