中文摘要 | proton exchange membrane fuel cell (pemfc) is considered as one of the most prosperous power sources to drive vehicles, due to the high efficiency and clean exhaust. however, there are still some obstacles (e.g., lifetime, reliability and cost) before their commercialization. lifetime of pem fuel cell is the most important one and may change other factors, the requirement of which ranges from 5000 operating hours for car applications, up to 20,000 operating hours for bus applications and up to 40,000 operating hours for stationary applications. therefore, the research interest of pemfc durability is widely increased. one of the most important issues in pemfc durability is the catalyst degradation. carbon supported platinum are the most widely used catalyst for pemfcs, but many reports have demonstrated that during long time operation platinum will gradually grow in size and reduce the electrochemical active area (eca) thus irreversibly lower the performance of pemfcs. this phenomenon will become severer under dynamic loadings which are the case when vehicles are running. it is significant to investigate the degradation behavior and mechanism of pemfc catalyst under dynamic loadings. the effect of contaminants on fuel cells is another issues in pemfc durability, impurities in hydrogen fuel, such as co, h2s, and nh3, and in air, such as nox, sox, and small organics, are brought along with the fuel and air feed streams into the anodes and cathodes of a pemfc stack, causing performance degradation, and sometimes permanent damage to the membrane electrode assemblies (meas), resulting in a short life time of pemfc. at a subzero ambient temperature the pemfc produces water forms ice or frost, accumulating in the cathode catalyst layer (cl), thereby reducing the triple-phase boundary critical for the oxygen reduction reaction and hindering the oxygen diffusion. therefore, the cold-start capability and survivability of pemfc is also a great challenge for automotive or outdoor applications. in this paper, the recent advances about the durability of pemfc in dicp are reviewed, including catalyst durability under dynamic load, the effect of contaminants on pemfc, and subzero flexibility issues of pemfc. |
