英文摘要 | The neural mechanisms of orientation effects on same-race and other-race faces recognition were studied by ERPs working memory experiment. ERP data showed a significantly enhanced N170 for 135°/225° orientations in both races. Other-race faces produced shorter N120 and N170 latencies than own-race faces. Caucasian faces elicited larger P200. Caucasian faces evoked more positive ERPs for late components. Results indicate the faces in 135°/225° are the most difficult to recognize in own-race, particularly so for the other race, and support the idea that different cortical mechanisms might be involved in recognition of own-race faces as oppose to other race faces. |
