英文摘要	蔡伟毅，厦门大学经济学院助理教授，经济学博士。; 【中文摘要】寿险行业的发展受到诸多因素的影响，与经济发展水平具有共进性。居民对寿险产品的需求取决于三个方面的影响因素，其一是经济因素，包括经济发展水平和居民收入水平；其二是价格因素，包括通货膨胀率和利率；其三是社会因素，包括人口结构和居民受教育程度。寿险需求表现出结构性演进特征，在经济发展的各个不同阶段，寿险需求的影响因素亦不相同。中国大 陆与台湾地区的经济发展水平不同，寿险行业发展亦存在差距。1990年之前，台湾地区的寿险需求主要受经济因素和社会因素的影响。1990年之后则主要受价格因素和社会因素的影响；中国大陆的寿险行业发展落后台湾地区20年，实证分析亦证明1990年至今中国大陆寿险行业发展与1990年之前的台湾地区相类似。 【Abstract】Development of life insurance (LI) is affected by many factors and it grows with economic development. Demand for LI is influenced by three factors. The first is the economic factor which includes the level of economic development and the level of residents, incomes； the second is the price factor which includes the rate of inflation and the interest rate；the third is the social factor which includes structure and education level of the population. This paper argues that the evolution of demand for LI exhibits structural characteristics and that factors affecting demand for LI vary according to different periods of economic development. The levels of economic development in the Chinese mainland and Taiwan are different，therefore there are differences between the evolutions of their LI. This study is a comparative analysis of thiese two economies and finds that before 1990 demand for LI in Taiwan was mainly influenced by economic and social factors，but since 1990 it has been influenced mainly by price and social factors. By contrast，LI in the Chinese mainland lags behind Taiwan by 20 years though the factors affecting its LI development were similar to those in Taiwan both before and after 1990.; 教育部哲学社会科学发展报告培育项目“海峡西岸经济区发展报告”（11JBGP006)
