英文摘要	With the rapid development of modern science and technology, various manufacture and evaluation techniques have been employed in tissue and organ regenerative medicine. A new research area—biomanufacturing—has grown up with the incorporation of life science, materials science, computer science, information technology, and manufacturing technology. Biomanufacturing is a new discipline that uses principles and techniques of manufacturing science and life science to assemble tissues, organs, and artificial products at microscale, cellular, and molecular levels. At present, biomanufacturing has become the advanced technology of manufacturing techniques and a new growth point of industry for biomedical uses. Among existing biomanufacturing techniques, rapid prototyping has played a significant role in recent large bone defect repair, aesthetic and plastic surgery, high-throughput drug screening, and complex organ manufacturing fields, making great contributions to human health, environmental protection, and sustainable development (1–12). Research groups all over the world have been very active for over 10 years, while some new groups have just arrived. So, a meeting focused on this field has been strongly recommended.
