Time:February 20, 2014 - February 21, 2014.; WIT Transactions on Modelling and Simulation; Scheduling of inbound and outbound trucks has a great impact on multi-door crossdocking operations. This paper discusses a scheduling problem of inbound and outbound trucks in order to improve the operational performance of crossdocking by assigning each truck to an appropriate dock. Because this problem is strongly NP-hard, two kinds of genetic algorithms integrated with greedy method called hybrid genetic algorithm (HGA) are developed by adopting single-point crossover operator (SPCO) and double-point crossover operator (DPCO) respectively. The results of computational experiments under different scenarios show that HGA with SPCO outperforms that with DPCO in terms of both final near-optimal solution quality and computational time. ? 2014 WIT Press. |
