中文摘要The factors influencing gamma irradiation treatment of paper mill effluent with TiO/sub 2/ nano particles (Degussa, P-25 type) before and after biological treatment were investigated experimentally. The sample effluents were irradiated in a /sup 60/Co gamma irradiation facility. The results show that gamma irradiation at an absorbed dosage of 1 kGy can be used to effectively treat high strength paper mill effluents with a chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal efficiency of 29.5%. The addition of 1 g/L TiO/sub 2/ nano particles in combination with 0. 5 L/min pure oxygen aeration and 1 kGy gamma irradiation significantly enhances the treatment of the paper mill effluent, with a COD removal efficiency of 68.85% for the paper mill influent, 50.0% for an anaerobic effluent and 42.86% for an aerobic effluent.
