中文摘要	A 32-bit microcontroller advanced RISC machine (ARM) with the embedded operating system uClinux was used for an on-line monitoring system for gas insulated switchgear (GIS) to meet the IEC61850 standard for automatic power station operation. The hardware and software were designed for the on-line GIS monitoring system which used the Ethernet and CAN (controller area network) for communication. The network based on the ARM and the TCP/IP stack of uClinux provides the on-line GIS monitoring system with stable communications and interchangeability. The ARM kernel in the embedded system provides a stable on-line monitoring system with real-time processing capability and extendability. Therefore, the on-line GlS monitoring system based on the microcontroller ARM and the embedded uClinux operating system effectively meets the requirements of the IEC61850 standard.
