中文摘要The tetragonal-to-monoclinic phase transformation in yttria (1.5 mol%) and ceria (4 mol%) stabilized zirconia containing 0-15 wt% Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ during ageing in air (300 degrees C) and in water vapor (150 degrees C, 200 degrees C) is investigated in this paper. It is found that water can greatly accelerate the degradation of zirconia. A limited amount of Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ addition can effectively suppress the degradation, however the effects are slight in water vapor at high temperatures. Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ does not change the degradation mechanism of ZrO/sub 2/, but can prevent further continuation of degradation by the dispersion of Al/sub 2/O/sub 3 / particles in the ZrO/sub 2/ matrix and the formation of aluminum hydroxide [Al(OH)/sub 3/].
