中文摘要A brief analysis of MOS differential VCO recurring to the available solution of the standard Van der Pol's equation is made. The conclusions include: a) the analytic functions of the start-up condition and the amplitude-bias current relationship, b) the harmonic amplitude, c) the time constant of the start-up procedure, and d) the phenomenon that the nonlinear characteristics of the cross-coupled MOS pair can reduce the VCO's output frequency. These results show some new comprehension about how the VCO's performance is influenced by the characteristics of the cross-coupled MOS pair, which is helpful for designers to foresee and to optimize the VCO's performance.
