英文摘要 | The ability to manipulate microparticles or nanoparticles precisely is important for the development of microsystem. Acoustic tweezers are excellent tools for manipulating particles with size approaching or slightly smaller than wavelength. However, manipulation of microparticles with much smaller size requires stronger acoustic confinement and higher intensities than can be provided by these diffraction-limited acoustic tweezers. Here, we demonstrate the use of a subwavelength slot between two plates for acoustic manipulation of microparticles with size far smaller than wavelength. The mechanism of manipulation is based on the acoustic trapping force induced by the highly localized acoustic field in the sub-wavelength slot. In addition, we found that the narrower the slot is, the more localized the field can be, and the stronger acoustic radiation force can be obtained. Thus, this system could be potentially used in acoustofluidics for manipulation of nanoparticles. |
