英文摘要 | Objective Topologically visual perception, "global-first" topological approach,is one of the crucial theories in primitive visual perception.Previous evidence has showed that topological perception exists in human beings, mice and bees. However, mere is no evidence showing that it exists in rats.In order to reveal the ability of such perceptions being shared across the species,we used rats as our animal model to study the topological pattern recognition and explore the relevant neuronal basis. Methods A T-maze paradigm was used to train the rats to discriminate the patterns that are topologically different, and men to test several other novelty patterns.Results(1) We successfully trained the rats to discriminate the topological difference between S shape and ring;(2) During the testing phase,we demonstrated that the rats were insensitive to topological difference, but were sensitive to topologically equivalent patterns. Conclusion Our data suggest that topological recognition exists in rats' vision system. |
